UK magazine World Commerce Review has named Bermuda the winner of the Best Digital Jurisdiction Award for 2016.

Minister of Economic Development Dr. Grant Gibbons commented: “We are very pleased to receive this award from World Commerce Review – and I would like to congratulate Bermuda’s ICT sector who have been instrumental in the Island receiving this distinction.

“Bermuda’s first-class telecommunications infrastructure and ICT sector complement each other in supporting our jurisdiction.”

In naming Bermuda the Best Digital Jurisdiction, the selection panel took into account product innovation, on-going customer support and best practice criteria, as well as a continuing commitment to deploying the best technology and practice to enhance productivity.

In addition, forward planning and Corporate Social Responsibility [CSR] were seen as key areas for the award committee.
