29-Year-Old Woman In Stable Condition In ICU
The 29-year-old woman “believed to be the driver in Saturday night’s fatal car crash was in stable condition” in the ICU, the police have confirmed, adding that she “was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving as per protocol in the Road Traffic Act 1947, which applies to any collision where serious injury or death occurs.”
A police spokesperson said, “At last check earlier this morning [October 30th] the injured 29-year-old woman said to be from Warwick and believed to be the driver in Saturday night’s fatal car crash was in stable condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
“The crash claimed the life of 30-year-old Rakai Augustus and a Family Liaison Officer is assisting the deceased’s family as inquiries continue.
“The 29-year-old woman involved was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving as per protocol in the Road Traffic Act 1947, which applies to any collision where serious injury or death occurs.
“Any witnesses that have not yet come forward regarding the fatal crash around 11:40pm Saturday, October 28th in the Wellington Street, York Street St. George’s area between Rose Hill Street and Fort George Hill are urged to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788.”
