Dandy Town Hornets, North Village Rams, St. George’s Colts, and Paget Lions claimed victories in this weekend’s Friendship & Shield Preliminaries football action.
Friendship Preliminaries
Young Men Social Club 0 Dandy Town Hornets 4
At the Police Field the Dandy Town Hornets scored four times in the first half to advance to the Friendship trophy Quarter-Finals.
Ian Coke would find the back of the net in the 4th minute to give the Dandy Town Hornets the lead, Angelo Simmons would double the lead when he found the back of the net two minutes later.
Coke would then head in from a corner in the 41st minute, before Simons would add another on the stroke of half time from a 25 yard free kick.
Neither team would score in the second half earning the dandy town Hornets a 4 – 0 victory.
Boulevard Blazers 1 North Village Rams 3
At Lord’s in St. David’s, the North Village Rams defeated the Boulevard Blazers 3 – 1, the North Village Rams took the lead with Jonathan Briers finding the back of the net in the 4th minute.
The Boulevard Blazers would equalize in the 11th minute when Kahzarde Samuels found the back of the net. Keishen Bean put the North Village Rams back in front 10 minutes later. Shayne Hollis would score for the North Village Rams in the 68th minute.
Shield Preliminaries
St. George’s Colts 1 St. David’s 0
After a scoreless first half at Lord’s in St. David’s, Jarazinho Bassett scored in the 68th minute to earn the St. George’s Colts a 1 – 0 win over St. David’s.
Paget Lions 2 Hamilton Parish 1
At the Police Field, the Paget Lions defeated Hamilton Parish 2 – 1. Marco Piper gave the Paget Lions the lead in the first half, but Keo Darrell would equalize for Hamilton Parish in the second half, only for Dion Stovell to score what proved to be the winner.
