Court: Man Charged With Killing Dejon Simmons

March 26, 2018

Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [March 26], a 25-year-old man was charged in connection with the death of Dejon Simmons, who died following an altercation on Front Street last Sunday.

Rakeem DeShields, from Paget, was charged with unlawfully killing 30-year-old Dejon Simmons on Front Street in Hamilton on March 18, 2018.

The defendant, who was represented by Charles Richardson, was granted bail and ordered to surrender his travel documents and report to Hamilton Police Station on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday.

He was not required to enter a plea as the charge must be heard in the Supreme Court, and he is set to re-appear in Court in the Supreme Court Arraignment Session in May.
