35-Year-Old Woman Arrested After Collision
Police have confirmed that a 35-year-old woman was arrested on “suspicion of impaired driving” following the collision yesterday morning in the east end.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 7:10am Saturday, April 14th police and first responders attended a reported single vehicle car crash on Wellington Street in St. George’s, near the junction with Fort George Hill.
“It appears that the car involved was being driven along Wellington Street when it collided with a wall in the vicinity of Tiger Bay, causing the vehicle to overturn and end up on its side.
“The driver, a 35-year-old St. George’s woman, was apparently unhurt and initially assessed at the scene by emergency medical technicians [EMTs], but declined further medical treatment.
“She was then arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The damaged car was later towed away.
“Inquiries continue and any witnesses to this crash are asked to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
