Derosa Named To All-American Second Team
Bermuda’s Tiara Derosa has been named to the NCAA DII Outdoor Track and Field All-American Second Team.
The school’s report said, “Sophomore Tiarra Derosa [Sandy's, Bermuda] of the Shaw University women’s outdoor track and field program was named to the NCAA DII All-Americans Second Team for the 2018 Outdoor Track and Field season, the U.S. Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association [USTFCCCA] announced Tuesday.
“Student-athletes earned First-Team USTFCCCA All-America status by virtue of finishing among the top-8 in their events – including as a member of a relay team – at this past weekend’s NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Charlotte, NC. Second-team honors were bestowed upon those finishing ninth through 12th. Ninth- and 10th-place relay teams also earn the distinction.
“Derosa was the lone Second Team All-American recipient from the Lady Bears after finishing 11th in the discus with a throw of 45.43m.”
