Court: 72-Year-Old Man Admits Sex Assault
A 72-year-old man has pleaded guilty to a sexually assaulting a young girl in the early 1970s.
This morning at Magistrates Court, Bernard Marshall admitted indecently assaulting a girl under the age of 14 between January 1970 and September 1972 in Bermuda.
The court heard that Marshall was between the age of 24 and 26 at the time of the offence.
Marshall claimed he was “really very sorry” after admitting the charge.
Prosecutor Maria Sofianos told the court that the Crown would be seeking a prison sentence when Marshall appears at court next.
Marshall was granted bail while social inquiry reports are prepared and will return to court on August 17.
