“Amicable Resolution” To Labour Issue At One
The BIU and One Communications announced there has been an “amicable resolution” to the industrial action which started on November 15th.
The joint statement said, “The Bermuda Industrial Union [BIU] and One Communications [the Company] are pleased to jointly announce an amicable resolution of all matters. One Communications’ staff began returning to work Monday morning, 19 November 2018.
“On behalf of the Company, Frank Amaral thanks our Union Partners, under the leadership of George Scott – BIU Organizer, for their collective efforts in seeking a quick resolution to the matters raised.
“Both the Company and the BIU note that the released non-union manager continues to pursue an employment claim. The Company intends to fully defend its position on the claim in the proper venue at the appropriate time.”
