Bermuda Sailors Begin Orange Bowl Regatta

The 2018 Orange Bowl International Youth Regatta got underway off the shores of Miami, with Bermuda fielding a team.

Three races were sailed on the opening day of racing with Sebastian Kempe leading the 212 Optimist Fleet with three wins for his 3 points, Kempe leads the Red Fleet as well.

Rachael Betschart is in 29th place in the Red Fleet and in 40th place overall with 47 points after finishes of 11th, 16th and 20th; while holding down the 62nd overall position is Paul Rodrigues with 65 points, and currently 20th in the Blue Fleet.

Sophia Dias is currently 3rd in the White Fleet and 98th overall with 104 points, while Ethan Thompson is 40th in the Blue Fleet and 104th overall with 110 points. In the 45th position in the Blue Fleet and 111th overall is Kipling Rossouw with 114 points, with Ben Redburn 132nd overall and 55th in the Blue Fleet with 132 points.

Sarah Davis is in 9th place sailing in the White Fleet and 140th place with 137 points and Trey Whaley is holding down the 84th place in the Red Fleet and 166th overall with 163 points.
