Video: Sunday Dec 23rd ‘Good News’ Spotlight
News that the Gingerbread Cubicle designed by Asia Ming-Raynor won the BHB HR Christmas office decorating contest, the International Women’s Club donated 67 bags of food, the Kicks for Cancer campaign raised $4,515 for Bermuda Cancer & Health Centre, a Gombey mural by Alshante Foggo was erected on Till’s Hill, and Tokio Millennium Re spread holiday cheer at Lefroy House were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.
In additional good news, QPR Manager Steve McClaren said he was “delighted” with Nahki Wells’ performance, swimmers won seven medals at a Florida meet, Lucrecia Ming is training for a triathlon after losing 150 pounds, Khano Smith was named as an assistant coach for USL Championship side Birmingham Legion FC in Alabama, and Vanessa James and Morgan Cipres won the French Elite Skating title.
Other good news stories included Port Royal Primary school students donating money and toys, the Somersfield Academy Interact Club giving back, five culinary apprentices employed at Fairmont Southampton getting set to receive additional training in Canada, and CNN highlighting Meredith Andrews.
