Medical Evacuation To Take Place On Saturday

A medical evacuation is set to take place tomorrow night [Jan 12], with the Singapore flagged container vessel ‘Polar Mexico‘ set to arrive off the east end of Bermuda to transfer a 46-year-old Polish national with a suspected compound fracture to his left ankle.

A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “The Singapore flagged container vessel ‘Polar Mexico‘ is in bound to Bermuda tomorrow night to conduct the medical disembarkation of an injured crew member.

“The 46-year-old Polish national has a suspected compound fracture to his left ankle and will be taken ashore by pilot boat for onward transit to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

Polar Mexico, originally on route from Bremerhaven, Germany, is due off the east end at 10pm, before resuming its voyage to Altamira, Mexico.”
