16-Yr-Old Female Injured In Ord Road Collision
[Updated] Traffic is being diverted away from the vicinity of a two-vehicle collision on Ord Road in Paget that occurred shortly before noon.Traffic is being diverted at Ord Road/Southcote junction and the Ord Road/Harvey Rd junction, according to police.
A police spokesperson said, “Police and EMT’s are currently at the scene of a two-vehicle collision on Ord Road in Paget. As a result of this collision, traffic is being diverted at Ord Road/Southcote junction and the Ord Road/Harvey Rd junction.
“Motorists are being advised to use alternative routes while the scene is being processed.”
Update 2.45pm: A police spokesperson said, “Around 11:48am today [4th April], police and first responders attended a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a private motor car and an auxiliary cycle on Ord Road, Paget, near the junction with Cherry Hill.
“Initial information suggests that both vehicles were headed in an easterly direction when the collision occurred.
“As a result of the collision, the 16-year-old female cycle rider was taken to King Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment of leg and back injuries. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
“The 24-year-old male driving the private motor car was not injured.
“Traffic was temporarily diverted onto Southcote Road and Harvey Road, while traffic accident investigators processed the scene. However, the road has now been reopened for normal traffic flow.”
