BSSF Middle School Boy’s Badminton Results
Noel Johnston repeated as Under 13 Champion at the Bermuda School Sports Federation Middle School Boys Badminton Tournament.
The Warwick Academy student defeated Eli Carpol from Somersfield Academy in straight games 11-3, 11-1 in the Final, number one seed Johnston defeated classmate Vincent Boisvert 11-7 in the Semi-Final while Carpol defeated Warwick’s Sebestian Pukk 14-12 in the other Semi-Final.
Boisvert and Pukk joined forces to win the Under 13 Doubles Title, they defeated the Somersfield pair of Aiden Wells and Odin Heinz in a three match thriller in the final.
The Somersfield duo won the first game 11-6 before Warwick came back to win the second game 11-5. This set up for a thrilling third set which Warwick won 14-12.
The champions defeated the Somersfield team of Carpol and Milo Morrison 11-9 in their Semi-Final, while Heinz and Wells got by Warwick’s Boisvert and Harlan Watson Brown 11-6 in the other Semi-Final.
Somersfield Academy’s Machai Whitter captured the Singles and Doubles Titles in the Over 13 Division.
Whitter defeated Warwick Academy’s Charles Boisvert in straight games 11-5, 11-9. Whitter defeated Jake Roberts of Mount Saint Agnes 11-3 in the Quarter-Finals before defeating Warwick’s Matthew Brooks 11-8 in the Semi-Finals.
Brooks defeated Michael Costello 12-10 in his Quarter-Final matchup. Boisvert defeated Warwick’s Antonio Warner 11-5 in his Quarter-Final then Nick Kempe from Somersfield Academy 11-7 in the Semi-Final. Kempe had defeated Blake Oliveira 11-5 in his Quarter-Final.
Whitter teamed up with Costello to win the Doubles competition. The duo defeated the pair of Boisvert and Brooks in straight games in the Final.
