College Culinary Student Studying In Ghana
A partnership between Bermuda College and a Ghana-based NGO, Ace It Foundation, has provided unique internship opportunities for Bermuda College culinary arts students, and Tremayne Bailey is the first Bermuda College student to participate in the 8-week long internship in Ghana.
The Ace It Foundation is co-founded by Bermudian, Quinton Sherlock, who also serves as the organisation’s Chief Executive Officer, and is a former psychology lecturer at the College.

The College explained, “Tremayne Bailey is the first Bermuda College student to participate in the 8-week long internship.
“Tremayne will be working between two facilities in Ghana – Till’s Beach Resort, located in Gomoa-Fetteh; and Accra Marriott Hotel, in the country’s capital. He arrived in Ghana on May 31 and within his first week on the job, has already described the internship as ‘a great learning experience.”
“Ghana has such a rich cultural heritage, much like Bermuda. I hope to learn more of the language, and more of the food dishes like jollof rice, a local delicacy, which I learned to make this morning,” he noted.

“Aside from honing students’ culinary skill sets in a different environment and culture, it is hoped that Tremayne and future students will also seize the opportunity for personal development and character building,” the College said.
“Tremayne was accompanied on the trip by the College’s Hospitality Management Senior Lecturer, Shawn Deshields, who will be conducting capacity building workshops for hotel staff at the same time. External sponsorship for the internship was provided by Mr. Eldon Raynor, and Mr. Marc Bean.”
