Milan Butterfield Scores In Harriers Win
Bermuda’s Milan Butterfield scored for Kidderminster Harriers Football Club as they played to a 5 – 3 victory against Kettering Town FC.
The club’s match report said, “John Pemberton’s charges twice came from behind to record a memorable win, with Ashley Chambers [2], Rich Peniket, Milan Butterfield and Cliff Moyo all on target.
“The visitors far from had it all their own way and, after a quiet showing in the first half, found themselves 1-0 down at the break after Cartwright headed in from a corner.
“One became two on 56 minutes when a first-time finish, again from a corner, saw Skarz fire into the roof of the net to send the home fans into raptures.
“Harriers, with a change of formation and personnel, began their epic fightback with a powerful 65th minute header from Chambers, before Moyo thundered one with even greater force into the net five minutes later to make it 2-2.
“Before anyone could settle, Kettering were back in front thanks to another header, this time from Kennedy, but the lead would only last a matter of seconds, as Peniket made it 3-3 back up at the other end, rising highest and beating the goalkeeper to the ball to find his first goal for the club.
“At 3-3, you’d have witnessed one of the most frantic, eventful draws of the season, but Harriers were far from done. Butterfield’s drive, with the aid of a deflection, made it 4-3 with just three minutes left to play, with the visitors making fully sure of the result with an opportunistic, yet well-taken goal from Chambers making it five in added time.”
