Video: Sunday Oct 6th ‘Good News’ Spotlight

News that Tyler Butterfield won the Ironman 70.3 Cozumel, Catherine West’s novel won a top fiction award, Kenya Thompson, Arjah Rogers, Leitonya Edwards and Khaleb Tota joined the Bank of Butterfield’s two-year graduate trainee programme, and a Rhode Island couple celebrated their 40th visit to Bermuda were all some of the positive news stories from the past week.

In sporting aspects of good news, Nahki Wells was named the Queens Park Rangers’ ‘Player of the Month’ after scoring four times in September, Justin Donawa scored in a Darlington FC win, Zenawi Bowen and MacQuille Walker both scored in a Thomas College win, and Zeiko Harris helped Appalachian State to a win.

Other good news stories included Hamilton Insurance Group renewing its sponsorship of a public primary school coding programme, the B.T.I.A’s Cisco Network Academy Programme being formed, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority holding a ‘Cultured Pearls’ event, the BPO getting set to receive international recognition, and EY earning Reactions’ ‘Firm of the Year’ award.

We also posted various community photo galleries, including coverage of the Bermuda Web meeting at Ledgelets Cottage, Elite City Basketball League action, Flag Football League action, Premier and First Division football action, Police Week getting underway, and the Top 10 Bernews “Photo of Day”.
