UK Court Orders Confiscation After Conviction
A court in the U.K. has confiscated thousands of pounds from Marcus Weeks and Dalji Waldron after they were convicted of drug charges.
The report from Lincolnshire Live said that two brothers “have had thousands of pounds confiscated after selling drugs to university students in Lincoln by taxi.”
Marcus Weeks and Dalji Waldron were jailed for four years and four months at Lincoln Crown Court in 2018 after admitting admitted charges of conspiracy to supply cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis between 17 August 2016 and 22 September 2017. They also admitted production of cannabis on 22 September 2017.
“Now, a court has confiscated thousands of pounds from the brothers under the Proceeds of Crime Act,” the report said.
“Waldron was ruled to have benefited from drug dealing by £39,639 [$50,007] and his available assets of £6,330 [$7,985] were confiscated at a Lincoln Crown Court hearing under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
“Weeks benefited by £21,327 [$26,905] and his available assets of £1,570 [$1,980] were also confiscated. Cocaine, ecstasy, and cannabis found when they were arrested was ordered to be destroyed.”
