Bermuda Keelboat Championships Day Two
The Royal Bermuda Yacht Club’s shortened Keelboat Nationals Championships continued on the Great Sound in Blustery conditions.
Three more races were held on day two in the IOD and J105 Fleets, while the Etchells Fleet joined the racing.
Patrick Cooper from the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club continues to lead the IOD Fleet, he picked up three wins on the day to take his winning total to 5 out of the 6 races. Cooper has 9 points, Craig Davis from the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club is in second with 13 points and Royal Bermuda Yacht Club’s Blythe Walker is in third with 17 points.
With another two wins on day two and a 2nd place, finishes sees Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club’s Perter Bromby and Lee White in first place in the J105 Fleet with 7 points. Keith Chiappa sailing out of the Spanish Point Boat Club is in second with 14 points and Royal Bermuda Yacht Club’s James Macdonald is in third with 20 points.
The Etchells Fleet is being led by Royal Bermuda Yacht Club’s William Thompson who recorded finishes of 3rd, 2nd, and 2nd for his 7 points, Timothy Patton from the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club is in second with 9 points and there is a tie for third with Royal Bermuda Yacht Club’s John Hele/Leatrice Oatley and Royal Bermuda Yacht Club’s Paul Wright both have 10 points.
