I got to “outsourcing is a curse word”.

    • Now Ya Nice says:

They need to outsource the president of tge BIUs job, and elect someone that can work WITH employers. Why is it that most unions can conduct themaelves in a professional manner, but he prefers to flex muscle, just because. That union lacks a leader that is strong enought to stand up for a member that is mistreaded, AND stop supporting those members tgat use and abuse because they feel invincibale. We all deserve someone that has the ability to hold a members meeting without intentionally shutting tbings down! How is this served us?! He needs to retire and enjoy playing poker.

    • Joe Bloggs says:

So is the phrase “21 days notice”

  2. Dark Star says:

It is painful trying to understand what this man is trying to say— Anybody got a translation?

  3. Ringmaster says:

Was this an apology for making life more stressful for residents? Of course not, none of them care. Containers of Christmas trees destroyed because they weren’t unloaded on time. Probably a food shortage too and delays to other Christmas items causing lost sales and resulting pay and tax revenues. Sickening and the PLP go along with it as they don’t have the you know whats to take on the BIU.

    • Paul says:

I find it very difficult to understand what Furbert is saying he needs to calm down, come on Furbert,Bermuda has gone through enough, this is ridiculous ,and it all over one dock worker,so now we all have to suffer.
Bermuda, wake up,and Premier you are in charge not the union.

  4. Bobby Barnes says:

I for one is not saying that the current labor dispute is all the BIU’s fault. It takes 2 to tango.
But what I and we are saying is don’t just pick up your toys and go home like little children.
By doing so you had an illegal strike and really annoyed a lot of Bermudians, most of whom have had a very difficult time this year.
You should have been grown adults and taken mediation or the courts to sort all this out.
Stevedoing Services didn’t shut you out, you walked off.

    SO SHAME ON YOU BIU

  5. Birdlegs says:

The disregard of the law by the BIU is unbelievable. The Dock workers are an essential service and as such are required to give21 days notice of industrial action to allow the Minister and the Labour Relations Office to try to solve the issue. This action during such a downturn in the economy and especially at Christmas is irresponsible in the extreme. Other people’s jobs are at risk. Why didn’t the Minister or Stevedoring Services get an injunction? Come on BIU and SSL and Minister it is time to help this island, not hurt it.

    • sandgrownan says:

Don’t forget, his supreme highness emperor Burt is on record as saying that the “PLP share the same DNA as the labour movement, and march in lockstep with it”…

      Expect more of this.

  6. I n I says:
