Governor Rena Lalgie, Premier David Burt, and Opposition Leader Cole Simons have released video versions of their Christmas messages for this year.
Governor Rena Lalgie said, “From what I have already observed, albeit from a distance, it is clear that in times of crisis, this community pulls together, supporting the most vulnerable and those facing economic hardship. That collective spirit, if applied more generally, can achieve great things.”
Premier David Burt said, “Christmas is about the miracle of the birth of Jesus Christ, and for many of us, this is a significant part of our lives and our faith. This story symbolizes the very essence of this Season and reminds us that God loved us so much that he sent his Son to save us. Even during this pandemic, we must not lose sight of the meaning of the Season.”
Opposition Leader Cole Simons said, “On the first Christmas day some 2000 years ago, the world experienced a seismic change through the birth of Jesus Christ. This tiny baby came wrapped in humility to share his gift of love, joy and peace with a world that was not expecting him, but which desperately needed him. For those who accept Jesus, the trajectory of their lives will forever be changed for the best. He is the reason we can celebrate Christmas and have hope for the future. What an amazing and eternal gift.”
