Bermuda Day Race Registration Postponed

April 5, 2021

The Bermuda Half Marathon Derby Committee has postponed the opening of the Bermuda Day race registration until May 1st, saying they will “reassess the situation at that time.”

In an online post, the Bermuda Half Marathon Derby Committee said, “Please be advised that the Derby committee has made the decision to postpone the opening of race registration until May 1st, and we will reassess the situation at that time.

“It is still our hope that this race will be able to take place as scheduled on May 28th. We apologize for any inconvenience, and we thank you for your patience and understanding.”

The registration for this year’s Bermuda Half Marathon Derby was due to open on April 1st, with this year’s race set to be a ’Limited Edition’ event with participants capped at 450 half marathon runners and 100 relay runners, making up 25 teams.

The Government has already confirmed that due to the pandemic “we will not be able to host our typical Bermuda Day Parade,” and instead there will be a ‘Covid-safe Bermuda Day Show’ on May 28th which will be broadcast live, with some in-person tickets reserved for Bermuda’s immunized essential workers, and the theme for this year is ‘Bermudian Resilience.’
