Police officers issued 18 speeding tickets to motorists on Friday, with 12 in the eastern parishes and six in the western parishes.

A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] Roads Policing Unit [RPU], along with parish patrol officers, continue to address traffic offences as well as other incidents.

“On Friday 4th June, RPU officers issued a total of 12 speeding tickets to motorists between 8am and 9am in the eastern parishes – specifically in the Harrington Sound Road Smith’s parish / Hamilton parish area and the Kindley Field Road, St. George’s area.

“Also on Friday, patrol officers in the western parishes issued six speeding tickets to motorists during the day in the South Road, Camp Road Warwick area.

“As has been said many times before, appropriate enforcement is just one part of any effective strategy to deal with road safety issues.

“All road users also have an important role to play in protecting their own safety, as well as the safety of others, when travelling around the island.”

  1. Question says:

Oh look. They had a special day when they enforced speeding laws for 30 minutes.

    • I know right? says:

Unreal! The Police celebration for something we already pay them to be doing?

  2. Lovethepopo says:

If they caught 12 in an hour why not go for 4 hours or something like that? Oh, I must have forgotten people only speed during that hour.. why are they so proud of this. Stay out of the office because nothing gets done in there productive. Please I’m begging for 3 more hours..
