83,208 Total Vaccinations, 64.1% Had Two Doses

August 3, 2021

Bermuda has administered a total of 83,208 vaccinations and 64.1% of the population have received two doses thus far.

A Government spokesperson said, “Locally, Bermuda has completed week 29 of vaccinations. Since January 11th, Bermuda has administered a total of 83,208 vaccinations.

“Of the 83,208 vaccinations given as of July 31:

  • 52% are women and 48% are men;
  • 82.5% of all residents over the age of 65 years have had at least one vaccination and 81.3% are fully immunized;
  • To date, 65.4% of the population has been vaccinated [1 dose]; and
  • 64.1% of the population has been immunized [2 doses].

“Finally as it relates to Bermuda’s vaccination drive, the Ministry continues to advocate for residents to get vaccinated, and the Government continues to offer accessible avenues for members of the public to get immunized.

“Vaccination is recognised globally as one of the single most important measures that individuals can take to protect themselves, their loved ones and their community, from severe illness, hospitalizations and deaths.

“Residents can walk in to the King Edward Memorial Hospital vaccination centre. This week the vaccination centre will be open on:

  • Thursday, August 5th, from 4.00 pm – 7.00 pm; and
  • Saturday August 7th, from 8.00 am until 4.00 pm.

“Members of the public can register for a vaccination appointment via: https://vaccine.resqwest.com/web/.”

    This artical claims 64.1% of Bermudians have been immunised (2 doses)?

    Im sorry but there isn’t a single treatment that is available on the face of the planet that gives immunity to covid 19, so using words like immunity and immunised is false.

    The treatments available simply dull the effects of covid 19.

    you can still catch it, still carry it, still pass it on and still suffer effects from covid 19, even after 2 doses of treatment…that isn’t immunised, immunity or immunisation.

    Please stop making false claims unless Bermuda has a special treatment that the rest of the world doesn’t have?

    If so please enlighten the readers,and the rest of the world, the name of this magic treatment.

    Kind regards

    A guy who cares…

    If you can’t be assed to read, here’s a precis:

    “Dr Samantha Batt-Rawden, a senior intensive care registrar, said she had come across only one patient in critical care who had received both vaccination doses, and that the “vast majority” of people she was seeing were “completely unvaccinated”.

    Batt-Rawden said it was difficult to witness the look of regret on patients’ faces when they became unwell and needed to go on a ventilator. “You can see it dawn on them that they potentially made the biggest mistake of their lives [in not getting the vaccine], which is really hard,” she said, adding that she had overheard people telling family members about their remorse.”

      I have two small bridges, are you interested in buying them??

        This story is consistent with one told me me by a doctor here in Bermuda, at KEMH.

        The simple fact is, being vaccinated significantly reduces the likelihood of catching or transmitting COVID-19. And if you are unlucky enough to get it, being vaccinated reduces your chance of serious illness. It’s really quite simple.

          Cause its the same story being repeated.

      Funny how this one story is circulating. You know it’s an embellished story (the Gaudian is this what you call a good new source?) right. Many people have looked at this “one” story to try to do what you are doing here. Also you might want to rethink your “everyone unvaccinated is a plague rat” turns out the CDC is saying your that the vaccinated are in your words plague rats too as the viral load is not diminished enough to not pass it on. You can find your own source just look for recent new interview with Rochelle Walensky what ever network you want as to why you all need masks indoors regardless of status. Also you WILL need a booster shot just so you know. Personally a Canadian gymnast had a good take on this I sure you can look that up too as we seem to be doing things exactly as he laid out in the interview like he was a profit. After all even your Dr. Fauci who seems to be able to predict C-19 before it happened and now is predicting a stronger strain is coming down the line. Interesting no?
