Only Passengers Will Be Allowed In The Airport
Due to the current outbreak of Covid-19, people “will no longer be able to accompany passengers inside the terminal,” Skyport said.
Skyport posted the photo online below, saying, “Due to the current outbreak of Covid-19, only passengers will be allowed in the LF Wade International Airport. You will no longer be able to accompany passengers inside the terminal as we do our part to keep everyone safe.
“Additionally, only passengers with proof of a negative Covid-19 test will be allowed in the terminal. This only applies to those Bermuda departing passengers who require a negative test to travel to their destination.
“If you have not received your test results and the destination you are traveling to requires a negative test, you will not be able to enter until you can show proof of a negative test. We will continue to keep you update via our social media platforms and our website.”
As a note, Skyport clarified their initial statement, to note that the point about needing a negative Covid-19 test “only applies to those Bermuda departing passengers who require a negative test to travel to their destination,” so the text above has been amended.
The island is currently experiencing a major Covid outbreak, with over 1500 currently active cases.
