Results: Premier & First Division Football
Footballers in both the Premier Division and First Division were in action this past weekend, with Boulevard Blazers, Hamilton Parish, St. David’s, and PHC Zebras all earning wins, two other matches ended in draws, while some other matches scheduled to be held this weekend were cancelled, as the footballing community are dealing with the tragic murder of Osagi Bascome.
First Division
Vasco 1 Boulevard Blazers 3
At the Southampton Oval, the Boulevard Blazers defeated Vasco 3 – 1. The Boulevard Blazers got single strikes from Taiquan Davis, Daeshan Hendrickson, and Takeyhi Walker, while Ryan Smith scored the lone goal for Vasco.
Hamilton Parish 5 Young Men Social Club 2
At the PHC Stadium, Hamilton Parish defeated the Young Men Social Club 5 – 2.
Jordon Outerbridge opened the scoring in the 14th minute giving Hamilton Parish the lead, Clay Darrell equalized for Young Men Social Club in the 34th minute.
Ryan Parris scored in the 56th minute from the penalty spot after a hand ball in the box giving Young Men Social Club the lead. An own goal leveled the score at 2 – 2 in the 67th minute, Outerbridge scored his second goal of the game in the 71st minute, which was followed by a goal in the 74th minute from Mauriq Hill, and then Deniche Hill closed out the scoring for Hamilton Parish in the 83rd minute.
Ireland Rangers 0 St, David’s 1
At Malabar, visiting St. David’s edged Ireland Rangers 1 – 0, the lone goal of this game came when Cody Richardson converted from the spot.
Premier Division
PHC Zebras 5 Devonshire Colts 1
At the PHC Stadium, the PHC Zebras defeated the Devonshire Colts 5 – 1.
Marco Warren gave the PHC Zebras the lead in the 7th minute, Brandon O’Connor equalized for the Devonshire Colts in the 24th minute.
Four minutes into the second half Antwan Russell gave the PHC Zebras the lead, and then in the 73rd minute Enrique Russell doubled the PHC Zebras lead. Warren would make it 4 – 1 in the 83rd minute with his second goal of the game, and then Zakiyah Lee scored in the 90th minute for the PHC Zebras making it 5 – 1.
Southampton Rangers 2 North Village Rams 2
At the Southampton Oval, the Southampton Rangers and the North Village Rams drew 2 – 2.
The North Village Rams took the lead in the 26th minute through and own goal, but Jahnai Bean equalized for the Southampton Rangers in the 37th minute.
Both teams were reduced to ten men in the 57th minute when Dion Stovell from the Southampton Rangers and Jalen Harvey from the North Village Rams received a straight red card for a scuffle.
The Southampton Rangers took the lead in the 71st minute when Travis Wilkinson scored from a free kick, but the North Village Rams equalizer came in the 82nd minute when Kyler Knights scored from the edge of the box.
