Police Confirm: Man Dies After Stabbing Incident
A man has died after a stabbing incident, the police have confirmed.
A police spokesperson said, “A police investigation has commenced into the circumstances surrounding the death of a twenty-three-year-old male, who succumbed to injuries sustained in an apparent stabbing incident.
“Officers were at King Edward Memorial Hospital in connection with another matter, when they were alerted to the victim who was brought into the Emergency Department in a non-responsive state, with what appeared to be multiple stab wounds.
“The victim was transported to hospital via private vehicle. Details are at this time limited.
“A scene has now been established in the area of Fun Zone, Wallers Point Road, St. Georges.
“Details remain limited at this time and police are urging anyone with information on this incident, to get in contact with Acting Detective Inspector, Dean Martin, of the Serious Crime Unit on 295-0011.
“Alternatively, you may also call 211 or, Crime Stoppers on 800-8477.”
Update 12.30pm: ”The Minister for National Security will speak in a press conference this afternoon with the Bermuda Police Service to update the public on the investigation into the death of a 23-year-old male early this morning,” a spokesperson said.
Minister Ming said, “I extend my deepest condolences to the family of this young man, who is this afternoon coming to terms with this tragedy.
“While information is still being gathered and the investigation begins, I appeal to members of the public, who may have seen or heard what happened, to please share that information with police. If you know something, say something.
