Evolution: Cardiovascular & Open House Event
Evolution Healing Centre will be hosting an open house event on Friday, February 11 from 2.00pm to 4.00pm.
Cardiovascular event
A spokesperson said, “February is Heart Month when all people can focus on their cardiovascular health.
“Nearly 1 in 2 adults in the US have hypertension [high blood pressure], but only 1 in 4 have it under control. The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation in 2019 found that in Bermuda, high blood pressure is the third highest risk factor for death and disability combined. Hypertension is often called the silent killer.
“You may not have any symptoms, but it is a leading risk factor for heart disease and stroke. You can do some essential things to keep your blood pressure under control, such as monitoring your blood pressure at home, getting it checked by your healthcare practitioner, and ensuring all medications are suitable and up to date.
“Talk to your healthcare team about your ABCS to help manage your health; the CDC have proposed: Aspirin only when appropriate, Blood pressure checks, Cholesterol management, and Smoking cessation advice.
Open house event – 11th February 2022
“We must support and fund rehabilitation in Bermuda as a community. With this in mind, we are pleased to host an open house at Evolution Healing Centre, 25 Point Finger Road, Paget, on Friday 11th February 2022. The event will run from 2-4 pm.
“We invite you to visit us to ask questions, gain information, and share your stories. On hand to help will be Senior Physiotherapists Sandro Fubler and Kim Watkins from Evolution Healing Centre, clinical psychologist Dr Susan Adehamar, Occupational Therapist Jill Davidson, Senior Speech and Language Pathologist Kimberly McIvor, and Senior Dietician and Nutritionist Keelin Hankin to answer any questions you may have.
