Tennis: Phillips Continues Competing In Panama
Daniel Phillips continued competing in the J4 Llanos de Curundu Casco Viejo Bowl Under 18 Tournament in Panama, with a mixed day on the court.
Phillips, the number two singles seed, took on Dante Carlos Teramo from Argentina in a quarter-final battle and the pair went three sets, with Phillips falling.
Phillips won the first set 6-1, but he fell in the second set 6-2 and in the third set 6-3.
Taking to the court for the doubles, Phillips teamed up with Sasha Rozin from Canada; the pair are ranked number one. They took on Felipe Gallegos and Jorge Ruiz – both from Columbia – in their semi-final match.
Phillips and Rozin advanced to the final with a straight set victories of 7-6 and 6-2.
