Bba Winners Edge Bicyle Race

Sunday, 5th June 2022

Route:

Commencing at Kindley Field Road and travel in easterly direction to Swing Bridge roundabout, then turn at the roundabout and then head in westerly direction along Kindley Field Road to the Airport roundabout and The Causeway, then travel in westerly direction along the The Causeway, then travel in westerly direction along North Shore Road and to Flatts Village then travel in westerly direction along North Shore Road to the Barker’s Hill roundabout, then turn at the roundabout and head in easterly direction along North Shore Road to Flatts Village, then travel in easterly direction along North Shore Road to The Causeway, then travel in easterly direction along The Causeway to the Airport roundabout where the race will end at Kindley Field Road.

Traffic Control:

The bicycle race will commence on Sunday 5th June, 2022 at 8:00 am and is expected to be concluded by 11:00 am. All motorists are expected to use caution and avoid collusion with race participants. The race route will be under the direction of Bermuda Police Service and Race Officials. Motorists are asked to follow direction of the Police and Race Officials instructions to assist with traffic controls.

Roads Closed:

There will be no road closures to traffic while the bicycle race takes place, but motorists are asked to use caution and allow cyclists to participate and give way when directed given by the Police and Race Officials.

Parking:

There will be no parking restriction for this bicycle race, but motorists are permitted to park in designated parking areas along any part of the race route. Additionally, motorists must not block the race route or impede the participants in the bicycle race.

In addition, the Bermuda Police Service are hereby authorized to “Close-Off” the roadway or portions of the roadway and authorize parking as the Commissioner of Police decides.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform the motoring public that wall repairs along the road edge will take place at the property located at 38 Mount Hill, Pembroke.

The wall reconstruction will commence on Monday June 6th, 2022 and continue until Friday July 1st, 2022. These repairs will require a partial lane closure and restriction of traffic flow.

In order to secure the work site and the safety of the workers, traffic will be restricted to one way flow in the north-west direction. Traffic will be allowed to enter Mount Hill from the Langton Hill side to head west to Berkeley Road. Barricades will be placed on Mount Hill to prohibit traffic from traveling from Bulley-Graham-Rawlins Funeral Home to Langton Hill.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that Island Construction will be trenching on South Road, Warwick from Privateer Lane across to Tearoom Hill near the Warwick Seventh-Day Adventist Church to connect a BELCO line from the nearest pole into the Azura Bermuda driveway at Tearoom Hill.

The temporary lane closure will occur between Monday, June 6th, 2022 and Monday, June 13th, 2022. Working hours will be from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Motorists are asked to avoid this section on South Road and to use alternative routes via Middle Road from Cobb’s Hill Road or from Dunscombe Road for the duration of this trench work.

Traffic controls will be under the direction of Island Construction representatives and will be managed through traffic control signals, and directional signs during rush hours.

Motorists are advised to drive cautiously past the construction sites and avoid speeding to protect themselves and construction workers on site.

The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.
