Oil Slick Reported, Found To Be Algae Bloom
On Friday [July 8], an oil slick in Hamilton Harbour was reported to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, however it was later found to be ‘natural causes,’ specifically algae bloom.
A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “Friday 08th July, 03:52 pm – An oil slick in Hamilton Harbour was reported to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, an investigation by the Coast Guard it was found to be algae bloom.”
