Witness Appeal, Murder Investigation Continues
This month marks the 10th anniversary of the disappearance of Rudy Smith, and the police have renewed their appeal for information noting that “Rudy Smith might be gone, but he is not forgotten and you can be a part of ensuring justice is served.”
Acting Detective Inspector Jason Smith said, “Today the 9 July 2022, is the tenth year anniversary that Rudy Smith went missing. Rudy was reported missing by family and friends 9 July 2012, and at that time his disappearance was suspicious and a police investigation commenced.
“As a result of those initial police investigations, Rudy Smith’s disappearance became a murder investigation and police lines of enquiry were now centred on that. Today, this murder investigation remains active and police have identified a number of persons of interest to this inquiry.
“During the course of this investigation it is believed that there were a number of people directly involved in Rudy Smith’s murder. There are also a number of persons that witnessed activities in and around Parsons Road; Deep Dale area that can assist the Bermuda Police Service in bringing closure to Rudy’s family and people to justice.
