The plan for Sandys is a three-story development with 24 two-bedrooms, while the plan for the East End is also a three-story development, however this will include 12 two-bedrooms and 12 three-bedrooms.

Government Aim To Create Affordable Housing Units
In providing an update on housing initiatives earlier this month, Minister of Housing and Municipalities Zane DeSilva had mentioned some of the plans to create affordable housing saying that “The goal of Phase One is to deliver approximately 310 affordable housing units, including emergency and supported housing, through a combination of new construction and the activation of existing underutilised homes
Speaking at that time he said, “The initial stage of Phase One is expected to deliver over 200 affordable homes across five sites, including housing for families and seniors:
- Victoria Place, Sandys – 36 affordable units
- Albert Row, Sandys – 24 affordable units
- Tommy Fox Road, St. David’s – 24 affordable units
- Dr. Cann Park II, Southampton – 110 seniors’ units
- Channel House, St. David’s – refitted to provide 30 to 50 rooms for senior residents
The government is currently running a consultation on the Bermuda Affordable Housing Strategy 2025–2035, saying “This consultation draft sets out a comprehensive, ten-year framework to address Bermuda’s growing housing challenges, including rising costs, limited supply, and increasing demand across all income levels.

10 year framework consultation…. here we go again. Was supposed to be three years…now this nonsense and a consultation.
Failing PLP at their promises to promise ,,,fix the road or resign.
Dear Minister DeSilva,
Please may I see where the $100 million odd for this development is coming from?
wow, so ugly – no attempt at all to apply Bermuda style
Here come the objectors!
We need housing but…
Depressing, prison like blocks.
Do we actually have a planning sign off any more?
Needing more housing is no reason to build this crap.
