Boccia: DeSilva-Andrade & Hayward To Compete
[Updated] Yushae DeSilva-Andrade and Omar Hayward are representing Bermuda at the World Boccia Challenger in Veldhoven, Netherlands, this week.
Both athletes are competing in the BC1 Division at the NH Eindhoven Conference Centre Koningshof and will be in action later today.
DeSilva-Andrade competed at the World Boccia Cup in Povoa de Varzim, northern Portugal, last month.
Update 9.03pm: Omar Hayward played two games today, playing to one win and one loss. In the first match he played Tomas Kral from Slovakia, the world number 11. At the end of regular time the score was 2-2, they then had to play a tie break to decide the match and Kral claimed the win. In the second match, Hayward beat Spain’s Serafin Rodriguez, the world number 39th, by a score of 7-1.
DeSilva-Andrade is set to be in action tomorrow.
