Pier 6 Undergoing A “Stunning Transformation”
The City of Hamilton launched a marketing campaign for Pier 6, saying that the 6500 sq ft space is “currently undergoing a stunning transformation” and the expected completion date is Fall 2022.
A spokesperson said, “The City of Hamilton is excited to launch its marketing campaign for Pier 6 – Hamilton’s premier event venue.
“A promotional video with a dynamic rendering of the envisioned completed space has been created and can be viewed below to give potential clients a visual of what the end product will be.
“The 6500 square foot space is currently undergoing a stunning transformation to make it unlike anywhere else on the island – designed for both style and functionality. With its sleek, modern design and subtle industrial charm, Pier 6 will be the ideal venue for conferences, dinner parties, charity functions and private events.”
“This versatile waterfront venue is being purposely engineered so that it can easily transform to suit any occasion,” explained Director of Marketing and Communications Jessica Astwood.
“The venue’s interior will spill out through generous double doors onto a grand patio where you can dine and dance under the stars, allowing you to take in the magic of a Bermuda sunset or admire the reflection of City lights as they flicker across Hamilton Harbor.
“Where else in Bermuda can you enjoy a first-class, waterside event venue only mere footsteps from the heart of Hamilton’s bar and restaurant scene?”
A spokesperson added. “The open-plan space has a custom-made portable bar as well as sleek ‘His’ and ‘Her’ bathrooms which are easily accessible from the main event space. The venue’s striking metal ceiling beams are perfect for lights and decorations or make an attractive standalone feature.
Mrs. Astwood said, “Our Engineering teams have designed Pier 6, Waterfront Complex to be a multifunctional venue, and we couldn’t be more excited to announce that it will be back online this Fall and ready to accept bookings.
“There will be focal floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Hamilton Harbour in the interior space, a full catering kitchen and staff quarters, tentable space on the terrace, modernized and expanded bathrooms and direct dock access to the water. This former cruise ship passenger terminal will play host to a myriad of new memories for potential renters. We are encouraging people to secure Pier 6 for their Christmas party or special event now!”
A spokesperson said, “Last summer the City launched a massive renovation effort of the former No. 6 Shed with a host of major improvements aimed at turning the rental space into the City’s premier waterfront event venue. The Front Street building has long been used as a cruise ship terminal, however, about ten years ago the City moved the terminal to the lower floor and began to rent the top floor as a space for events.
“The City worked with local architects to develop a plan for the building that would take advantage of the structure’s unique attributes and exceptional location while also addressing the challenges of the building.
“Gorham’s Management & Design are project managing the renovation, following the City’s usual tender process. The expected completion date for the Pier 6 project is Fall 2022.
