Perinchief Leapt More Than Two Bus Lengths

August 9, 2022

To put Jah-Nhai Perinchief‘s Commonwealth Games medal winning performance into context, he jumped further than two Bermuda buses – the full length, not width. We did the math, and his stunning leap was around 2.5 feet longer than the length of two of the new electric buses combined.

The 24-year-old became the first Bermudian to medal in athletics at the Commonwealth Games since the 1990s. I feel great,” Perinchief told Bernews. “I’m happy to do it for Bermuda. Hopefully, this inspires the island’s youth to think, ‘I can do it too!’

“I’ve always thought, ‘Why can’t I medal?’ I’m from a small nation, but we have a lot of talent.”
