2022/23 Corona League Season Launch
The 2022/23 Corona League football season has been officially launched, with eight teams set to take part in the action.
Corona League President Mike McGrath said, “I’d like to welcome you all to the launch of Corona League 2022/23 season.
“Another exciting season awaits us without any restrictions and all the teams are itching to start on a new campaign.
“This season sees us welcome back FC Rhino, which will take the league back up to a nice and even eight teams, which will have us say goodbye to the bye week, so nobody misses out on any football each weekend.
“The eight team line up for the new season is:
- Onions FC
- FC Rhino
- Footy Kings FC
- Inter Bda FC
- Robin Hood FC
- Royal Bermuda Regiment
- Tuff Dogs SC
- YGS FC
“This exciting new season will start with the Coronita Charity Cup on October 7, warming us all up for the much anticipated start of the league. Thanks to the generosity of Corona Extras little brother, we can give back to the community. League winners Footy Kings will take on Cup winners Robin Hood at 7pm.
“The league season starts on Friday, October 14. Games will kick off at 7pm and 9pm on Fridays and 4pm and 6pm on Saturdays.
“We will pause for Remembrance weekend and then continue on till the Christmas break from December 11 to January 5.
“Once we return, we will play right through to see who is crowned the new champions.
“We will continue with our transfer window for the first two weeks in January, allowing for lower ranked teams to strengthen and make a charge up the table while allowing players in larger roster teams to get more game time.
“We will also run the Corona league cup competition through the season to add to the excitement and silverware.
“The cup will take on the format of two leagues, which will produce the semi-finalists who will lock horns for a place in the final at the end of the season.
“I would like to thank the board members for all the hard work they do and time they donate to make the league work as well as a big thank you to all of our sponsors who support us and have shown us such faith since we first approached them with a blank piece of paper and working together, we have managed to create such an enjoyable league.
“I would especially like to thank Corona and Goslings not only for being our title sponsor, but also providing us with these ice-cold Coronas to enjoy.”
