Results: Premier & First Division Football
Footballers in both the Premier Division and First Division were in action this weekend, with Wolves, Dandy Town Hornets, and St. George’s Colts all earning wins, while two other matches ended in draws.
First Division
Southampton Rangers 1 – Paget Lions 1
At the Southampton Oval, the Southampton Rangers and the Paget Lions played to a 1 – 1 draw. Kushae Hypolite gave the Paget Lions the lead in the 31st minute, but the Southampton Rangers got an equalizer from Isaiah Taylor in the 74th minute.
St. David’s 1 – Wolves 5
At Lord’s in St. David’s, Wolves defeated St. David’s 5 – 1. Wolves got four goals from Morriko Iris and Turae Robinson added the other, while Marcus Proctor scored the lone goal for St. David’s.
Premier Division
X-Roads 1 – Dandy Town Hornets 2
At Lord’s in St. David’s, the Dandy Town Hornets edged X-Roads 2 – 1. Cecoy Robinson gave the Dandy Town hornets the lead in the ninth minute; two minutes later it was 2 – 0 when Angelo Simmons found the back of the net. In the 18th minute, Donavan Thompson pulled a goal back for X-Roads, however, but neither team scored again, with the Dandy Town Hornets claiming the three points.
St. George’s Colts 5 – Hamilton Parish 2
At the Wellington Oval, the St. George’s Colts jumped out to a 2 – 0 lead after 17 minutes, with Jonte Smith scoring in the 11th and 17th minutes. Hamilton Parish pulled a goal back in the 21st minute when Macquille Walker scored as the two teams went to the break with the score 2 – 1.
Smith scored his third goal of the game two minutes into the second half. Kashe Hall then added a penalty in the 53rd minute to give the St. George’s Colts a 4 – 1 lead. In the 64th minute it was 5 – 1 after Blaiz Hall scored. Walker scored his second of the game in the 80th minute to pull Hamilton Parish within three, making the score 5 – 2.
Boulevard Blazers 0 – Devonshire Cougars 0
At the BAA Field, the match between the Boulevard Blazers and the Devonshire Cougars ended in a scoreless draw.
