City Completes Dressing Room Renovations
The City of Hamilton said they have “completed an extensive renovation of the Earl Cameron Theatre dressing rooms and bathrooms.”
A spokesperson said, “The refurbishment has completely transformed the City Hall space with the installation of sleek, modern fixtures and flooring, giving the area a clean and contemporary feel.
“We are extremely satisfied with the results of this extensive renovation,” explained Assistant City Engineer Chris Bulley.
“The final product is a purpose designed theatre dressing room that will better support theatrical, dance and musical performances for the enjoyment and benefit of the community.
“We have received great feedback from the organizations that have experienced the improved space and we are excited for the next performance groups to get in there and enjoy the new dressing rooms.”
A spokesperson added, “The renovation included the leveling and retiling of floors, new drywall and ceiling tiles, a full interior repaint, installation of new fixtures and hardware [including sinks, vanity cabinets, toilets and countertops], and the installation of a large 26-foot-long galvanized steel support beam to expand the dressing room space.
“All plumbing and electrical was replaced with new materials and a new communication system has been installed to enable direct communication between the dressing rooms, back of stage areas and the lighting and sound control rooms
“There are 8 hanging lockers, professional theatre mobile hanging racks, a new green room, a new makeup area and a new break area. Tankless water heaters have been installed under the new vanities.
“The contract for the works was awarded to Gorham’s Management Design Services after the usual tender process with J.A.D Design Build carrying out the management of the project.
