Oil Tanker Diverts Due To Sick Crew Member

An oil tanker – traveling from Singapore to Mexico – diverted to Bermuda to transfer a crew member suffering from a medical condition.

A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “Friday 18th November 2022, 1:10 am – Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre received notification from the ships management company, advising that the Liberian Registered 160,061grt oil tanker M/V C-Grace, was proceeding to Bermuda to transfer a crew member suffering from a medical condition, that required attention at a local Hospital Facility.

“The vessel was on passage from Singapore bound for Yuum Kak Naab, Mexico. The vessel Arrived offshore, in Bermuda Waters on Monday 21st November at 3:00pm. Where the 33-year-old South Korean Crew Member was safely transferred to Ordnance Island by the Pilot/Rescue Boat St David, and subsequently taken by ambulance to KEMH for medical treatment.”
