Wells Signs New Two Year Deal With Bristol City
Nahki Wells has signed a new two-year deal at Bristol City, with the club calling him a “fantastic professional” with a “brilliant work ethic.”
The Bristol City website said, “Nahki Wells has put pen to paper on a new two-year deal at Bristol City. The Bermudian marksman has agreed fresh terms with the Robins until June 2025 after an impressive start to the 2022/23 season.
“Wells, who arrived from Burnley in January 2019, has made 126 appearances to date in the red and white of City, scoring 27 goals and providing 12 assists.
“The 2020/21 season was his most fruitful campaign to date for the Reds in front of goal [10] and, as the Robins approach the halfway stage of the season, he’s on course to surpass that total with eight goals and five assists thus far.
“After enduring a difficult spell where game time became limited, Wells has rekindled the form that makes him one of the most potent strikers in the English Football League.”
City Manager Nigel Pearson said: “Nahki is a fantastic professional and he has shown the level at which he can operate on numerous occasions so far this season.
“He’s a real threat and great attacking weapon to have at our disposal for the next couple of years. He’s demonstrated maturity and a brilliant work ethic during my time at the club and he’s a real example to the young players we have coming through.
“Nahki has had to be patient, but he’s taken his opportunity with both hands when it’s come, and I’m sure he can continue to contribute to our future successes on the pitch.”
Wells added: “It’s amazing. I’m happy to get it signed and sorted, now we’ve hopefully got some good times to look forward to.
“To have had these conversations at this stage, I feel is a great reward for the work I have done over the last few months and what I still have to offer this football club. I’m in a great place mentally and can continue to focus on my football.
“I’m going to continue working hard for this team and work towards achieving my individual goals as well because you have to have that greedy nature to be a successful forward.”
Jah bless. Keep shining and may your boots keep firing goals. Respect!
