Bermudian author and administrator Dr. Ty-Ron Douglas has been featured as a ‘Pac Leader’ on the Pac 12 Network, “an American sports-oriented digital cable and satellite television network owned by the Pac-12 Conference.”

A spokesperson said, “Bermudian author and administrator, Dr. Ty-Ron Douglas, has been featured as a Pac Leader on the Pac 12 Network, ‘an American sports-oriented digital cable and satellite television network owned by the Pac-12 Conference.’

“The Pac Leader series is sponsored by New York Life and highlights Dr. Douglas’ positive impact on student-athletes at the University of California, Berkeley, where he serves as the Associate Athletic Director for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Justice [DEIBJ].

“A former English teacher in Bermuda and former Associate Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at the University of Missouri, Douglas played soccer for Dandy Town and Wolves in Bermuda and cricket for Warwick Workmen’s Club and the Western Stars Sports Club.”

Dr. Douglas said, “I am grateful for the opportunity to impact the lives of student-athletes, coaches, staff and administrators every day. The 3 minute video shares a glimpse of some of the more outward facing interactions of my role and office. Equally important is the team of leaders I get to work with and infrastructure building, policy changes, strategic programming, and educational initiatives that are helping us to accelerate DEIBJ and be leaders in DEIBJ in the Pac12 and beyond.

“I’m humbled and honored to mobilize competencies I developed growing up in Bermuda that allow me to lead in global spaces.”
