Ne-Jai Tucker Scores In Burnley U21 Victory
Bermuda’s Ne-Jai Tucker scored for the Burnley Football Club U21 team as they played to a 3-2 victory over Hull City.
The club’s match report said, “Seb Thompson’s last-minute winner earned Burnley’s U21 side a 3-2 win at Hull City in Professional Development League action, twice coming from behind on a cold night in North Ferriby.
“Versatile attacker Thompson’s strike followed earlier goals from Marcel Lewis and Ne-Jai Tucker at the Dransfield Stadium, cancelling out both an opener from Allahyar Sayyadmanesh & a second from Will Jarvis for the hosts.
“Iranian international Sayyadmanesh did however put the hosts in front on 17 minutes as a ball was threaded through to the winger and he cut inside before rifling a right-footed strike into the bottom corner.
“The hosts flew out of the blocks at the restart, and only a superb goal-line clearance from Joe Bauress denied Harry Vaughan early on.
“Tigers captain Matty Jacob also saw a shot deflected wide before Jarvis struck moments before the hour-mark to put Sellars’ men back ahead, driving into the box and finishing well.
“That stop proved a catalyst for the turnaround as three minutes later honours were even once more following a leveller from the penalty spot by Tucker.
“Eventually, in the last minute of the 90, it would come for the Clarets through Thompson. He latched onto a ball over the top and fired back across goal, the shot nestling in the corner of the net.
“With it, Burnley picked up a first win in three outings and moved level on points with Hull, 3rd in the Northern Section of the PDL.”
