Francis Patton 5K To Honour Florence Sharpe
On Friday [June 16], Francis Patton Primary School will be hosting a 5K Fun Run/Walk in honour of Florence Sharpe, who will be retiring at the end of June.
A spokesperson said, “This is event concludes the week long celebrations at the school for the well-loved educator. Mrs. Sharpe first began teaching at Francis Patton Primary School in 1987 as a classroom teacher. Later in her career she became the Physical Education and Arts Education teacher.
“The race will begin at Francis Patton School field. Registration is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 years old. Please call the school office to register [478-3303] or on the day of the race on the school field. T-shirts are available for $25, but are limited.
“A more formal celebration will be held in the form of a banquet to honour Mrs. Sharpe on Saturday, June 24th at 6pm. Tickets are available at the school office.
“We welcome all Francis Patton Alumni, former staff, friends and family to come and celebrate Mrs. Sharpe’s retirement.”
