RA To Host Town Halls On Offshore Wind Farms

August 30, 2023

The Regulatory Authority is reminding the public about two additional town hall events regarding the “potential of offshore wind farms for Bermuda.”

A spokesperson said, “Following the success of its initial town hall meeting held in July 2023, regarding the potential of offshore wind farms for Bermuda, the Regulatory Authority is reminding the public about two additional town hall events, which are scheduled to take place at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, and at the Willowbank Resort Conference Center on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

Nigel Burgess, the Head of Regulation at the RA, shared his observations, saying, “The turnout at the initial town hall meeting in June at Penno’s Wharf in St. George’s was overwhelming. We are organizing added town hall meetings to ensure that those who couldn’t attend the first event can participate in discussions at either of the two venues.

“As no final decisions have yet been made about the potential adoption of offshore wind farms as a renewable energy source, these sessions are a great opportunity for the public to hear about our latest research findings and to get answers to their questions or concerns.”

“To attend either event, please register at www.ra.bm/offshorewindfarm. Refreshments will be available.”

Great news and all the best. May this endeavor succeed

How about skipping the dog and pony presentation and going right to questions? Try telling the truth and show the DETAILED spreadsheets and calculations used to come up with the absurd numbers presented in the PDF document posted online and the presentation PowerPoint.

Does Bermuda really need ‘wind farms?’ They do little to help the energy crisis in Britian. Dogs and ponies….I thought they were stuck on tigers, giraffes and koalas and following black children around in zoos. Hate an African lion though don’t they…smh. Endeavour High School in Hull, UK got shut down for hating on Muslims and my own mother was pictured aboard the Bermuda Endeavour for her ‘charity’ contributing to Bermuda’s youth. They wiped all that from the internet. Smh. The Brits do love a wharf. What is a waterhorse.
