Kinika Armstrong Called To The Bermuda Bar
Appleby announced that Kinika Armstrong was called to the Bermuda Bar before Acting Chief Justice Shade Subair Williams.
A spokesperson said, “Kinika completed her associate degree in Business Administration from Bermuda College before studying Law. She then went on to earn a Bachelor of Laws [LLB], a Master of Laws in Law, Business and Management, and the Legal Practice Course [LPC] from The University of Law.
“Kinika began her pupillage with Appleby in September 2022. In her first-year of the programme she completed three, four-month seats, rotating from the Private Client & Trusts [PC&T], Dispute Resolution and Corporate departments, where she was mentored by Caljonah Smith [Counsel], Sam Riihiluoma [Counsel] and Brad Adderley, Bermuda Managing Partner and Head of the Corporate practice group, respectively.
“Kinika is currently in her second year of Appleby’s legal trainee programme. She recently began her final seat which is 12-months, in the Corporate department under the continued mentorship of Brad Adderley.”
“I am honored to be admitted to the Bermuda Bar, a distinguished community of legal professionals. I would like to thank Appleby for the opportunity to learn from some of the best lawyers on the island. I am confident that my training at Appleby has prepared me well for this next chapter in my career,” shared Ms Armstrong.
Caljonah Smith said, “It was a pleasure having Kinika as a mentee during her rotation in the PC&T department. Kinika is delightful, dependable and a trusted member of the Appleby team. Kinika demonstrated that she has an awareness of client’s needs and concerns, by paying attention to details and showing great communication skills with clients and colleagues.
“She proved that she can research and analyse information to identify the relevant points and articulate them in a clear and concise manner. I have no doubt that Kinika’s journey as a legal practitioner will be one of growth and success and that she will be a great asset to the Bermuda Bar.”
Brad Adderley commented, “Kinika has been an absolute delight to mentor – she is passionate, enthusiastic and always smiling. Her positive energy, thirst to learn and to grow has been wonderful to see. I look forward to mentoring Kinika over the next year as she completes her final year of our trainee programme.
