YOUNGA 2023

The spokesperson said, “Organized by BridgingTheGap Ventures, YOUNGA® fosters collaboration between young people and influential decision-makers, enabling them to co-create solutions for a more inclusive and sustainable world. This initiative aligns with the United Nations Decade of Action, spanning from 2020 to 2030. In the upcoming YOUNGA 2023 gathering, 2,030 Youth Delegates from 140+ countries will collaborate with influential decision-makers and thought leaders to develop impactful solutions that address global challenges directly related to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals [SDGs].”

“I founded YOUNGA to build bridges—uniting young people globally to feel valued as co-creators of our future,” says YOUNGA founder and Global Chair, Kelly Lovell. “Our 2023 theme, Navigating with Purpose, seeks to facilitate multi-stakeholder collaboration and intergenerational solutions that focus, reorient and commit to the pathways that embolden young people in achieving the SDGs and an inclusive, sustainable future for all.” YOUNGA was conceptualized on the belief that the passion, experience and perspectives of young people like Noelle are needed for real change.”

These recommendations will be integrated into the YOUNGA 2023 Youth Delegate Communiqué. This Communiqué will be shared with Change Makers worldwide, ensuring the global reach of her contributions.”

A Beacon of Sustainability

The spokesperson said, “A passionate advocate for sustainability and intergenerational collaboration, Noelle actively champions Bermuda’s efforts to address climate change and promote ethical innovation. For the second consecutive year, she will co-host virtual sessions for the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute’s Youth Climate Summit, and serve as a facilitator for on-site participant engagement activities, which showcase her dedication to environmental conservation. Furthermore, she contributes her expertise as an Aquaculture and Fisheries Consultant for Bermuda Asset Management and currently holds the position of Programme Associate for the Bermuda Ocean Prosperity Programme.

“Facing adversity, she embarked on a global journey to pursue her passion for learning resource-efficient solutions, enhancing Bermuda’s food security, and facilitating aquaculture on island. What truly sets Noelle apart is the strength of her belief in the power of intergenerational collaboration. She stands as a dedicated advocate for ethics and inclusivity, recognizing that the wisdom of our elders, combined with the fresh perspectives and boundless energy of youth, can ignite transformative change.”

“Noelle is advocating for a robust Bermudian representation at the Conference of Peoples [COP28] in Dubai this year. “Being a small island nation, the Bermudian community often finds itself underrepresented on the global stage. The time has come for Bermuda’s youth and policy makers to demonstrate courage, to take a stand, and make the world aware of our presence. Despite our island’s size, the island has a significant influence on the global economy, through the re-insurance industry, and marine ecosystems.”

The spokesperson said, “Her initiatives reflect a commitment to making a meaningful impact on both a global scale and within Bermuda. Noelle aspires to establish an Aquaculture Research Centre in Bermuda in the near future, which includes launching a non-profit organization called SALTED: Supporting Advanced Learners in Technology and Eco-Development. The organization will focus on nurturing STEM-passionate women and girls who face adversity, including those who have special educational needs, or disabilities. The foundation’s mission will be to provide a secure space for these individuals to acquire new skills and fulfill their aspirations.”

A Voice for Bermudians

The spokesperson said, “Selected from among thousands of young people representing over 100 countries, Noelle joins the 2023 Youth Delegation, championing the aspirations and concerns of Bermudians. She will receive specialized leadership training, expert-led career coaching, and an invitation to partake in YOUNGA’s global festival for impact.”

Expressing her enthusiasm, she stated, “I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been selected as a YOUNGA Youth Delegate, and positioned to embark on an adventure with BridgingTheGap Ventures in October at YOUNGA 2023. With the theme of navigating with purpose for this year, I’m eager to chart a course forward, focusing on the causes I’m passionate about, while co-creating solutions for a better future.” Noelle eagerly anticipates connecting with fellow changemakers from around the world to explore new horizons and work collaboratively on finding solutions to global challenges.

“As an adaptable island nation, Bermuda is taking proactive steps to address environmental challenges. We find ourselves on the frontlines of climate impacts, a situation shared by many other island nations trying to evade poverty while also witnessing the rapid degradation of their natural resources – the very foundation of their economies. Given our unique position, Bermuda must take the lead in research and embrace innovative solutions. Being a small island, Bermuda has a significant role to play in the global conservation arena. “Islanders are born and raised with a conservation mindset, a valuable lesson we can impart.”

Empowering Noelle’s Path

The spokesperson said, “Noelle Young’s remarkable journey stands as a powerful testament to Bermuda’s young leaders championing global change. We are committed to supporting this extraordinary Bermudian in her quest to participate in COP28 and further her education, enabling her to make a more significant contribution to her family, her nation, and the world. To turn this vision into reality, a fundraising campaign has been launched, inviting all individuals who share her passion to contribute to Noelle’s educational pursuits, or her journey as a delegate.
