Male Dies After Shooting In Warwick
[Updated: The police confirm the shooting victim has died] There was a shooting in Warwick this evening [Nov 21] and the police have confirmed that a male was shot and was transported to KEMH “for treatment for his injuries which are considered life threatening.”
A police spokesperson said, “Around 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21st, 2023, police received reports of several gunshots heard in the area of Cobbs Hill and the Railway Trail in Warwick.
“Upon police arrival at the scene it was confirmed that a male had been shot.
“He was transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment for his injuries which are considered life threatening.
“An investigation into this incident has begun and anyone with information is asked to call the main police number, 295-0011.
Update 10.18pm: The police said, “The male injured in tonight’s confirmed firearms incident, in Warwick has sadly, succumbed to his injuries.”
Update Nov 22, 11.44am: Shadow National Security Minister Michael Dunkley said, “Another senseless shooting; another life taken unnecessarily. When does this end? We cannot keep our heads in the sand, hoping that incidences like these will just fade away. We have cold hearted killers in our midst who are destroying families and the community without a moment’s hesitation. They must be brought to justice swiftly.
“Bermuda, please say something if you know something. The Police cannot solve crimes on their own; they need your information, no matter how minute you may feel it is.
“On behalf of the One Bermuda Alliance, I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.”
Update Nov 22, 12.18pm: Minister of National Security Michael Weeks said, “I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life resulting from the shooting incident in Warwick last night.
“My heartfelt condolences go out to the victim’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
“Personally, I am appalled by the continuance of this absurd violence that has claimed the life of another black male.
