“I am grateful to our community that there were no reports of significant incidents of violence or tragedy during the Christmas and Boxing Day period,” stated Minister of National Security Michael Weeks.
“By and large, we maintained the essence of the holidays through responsible celebrations, prioritising the safety and well-being of the community.
“I hope we can sustain this peaceful spirit over the New Year’s Holiday Weekend. I urge everyone to prioritise safety and exercise caution and responsibility.
“I would also like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to the dedicated efforts of essential workers and emergency personnel who served our community well during the festive period.”
