Results: Premier & First Division Football
Footballers in both the Premier Division and First Division were in action this weekend, with the St. George’s Colts, PHC Zebras, North Village Rams, Devonshire Colts, Vasco and Wolves all earning wins.
Premier Division
Somerset Trojans 0 St. George’s Colts 4
At the Somerset Cricket Club, the St. George’s Colts defeated the Somerset Trojans 4 – 0.
Two goals from Blaiz Hall and a single strike from Amon Simons gave the St. George’s Colts a 3 – 0 half-time lead. Paul Simons scored the lone goal in the second half to earn them the big win.
PHC Zebras 5 Young Men Social Club 1
At the PHC Stadium, the PHC Zebras defeated Young Men Social Club 5 – 1.
Enrique Russell scored twice in the first half as the PHC Zebras held that lead going into the break. Josh Hardtman pulled a goal back for Young Men Social Club, but a Jayden Ebbin strike, and two late strikes from Jenico Sealy earned the league leaders the win.
X-Road’s 0 North Village Rams 7
At Lord’s in St. David’s, the North Village rams defeated X-Road’s 7 – 0.
Two goals from Jalen Harvey and an own goal earned the North Village Rams a 3 – 0 half-time lead. In the second half, the North Village Rams got two goals from Liam Evans, and single strikes from Jordan Outerbridge and Pierre Smith.
First Division
Somerset Eagles 1 Devonshire Colts 5
At the White Hill Field, the Devonshire Colts wrapped up the league title following their 5 – 1 win over the Somerset Eagles.
Jordan Saunders scored on the stroke of half-time to give Devonshire Colts a 1 – 0 lead at the break, Thierry Burgess, Sekai Tatem, and an own goal extended the Devonshire Colts lead to 4 – 0, before Marcus Iris-Simmons pulled a goal back for Somerset Eagles, Brandon O’Connor extended the Devonshire Colts lead back to four when he struck late.
Ireland Rangers 0 Vasco 3
At the Somerset Cricket Club, Vasco defeated Ireland Rangers 3 – 0.
Strikes from Sean Grob and Matthew Amaral gave Vasco a 2 – 0 lead at the break. Grob added a strike in the second half to give Vasco the win.
St. David’s 1 Wolves 3
At Lord’s in St. David’s, Wolves came from behind to defeat St. David’s 3 – 1.
Keishen Bean scored the lone goal in the first half as St. David’s took a 1 – 0 lead to the break. However Wolves would get single strikes from Morricko Iris, Dane Simmons, and an own goal to earn the win.
