Motorcycle Rider Seriously Injured In Collision
[Updated] A motorcycle rider was injured in a collision in Devonshire early this morning [Feb 3].
A police spokesperson said, “There has been a serious road traffic collision near the junction of Orange Valley Road and Middle Road in Devonshire. Details are limited at this time, but we can confirm a male motorcycle rider has been transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with a serious head injury. The roadway is currently closed off while the scene is forensically processed.”
Update: A spokesperson said, “The roadway has been been reopened to regular traffic flow. We wish to thank the public for their patience and cooperation while the scene was being processed.”
Update 9:41am: A police spokesperson said, “Around 3:20 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024, police and EMTs were dispatched to a reported single vehicle road traffic collision involving a motorcye on Middle Road, Devonshire; near the junction with Orange Valley Road.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered a male with an apparent head injury lying unresponsive on the roadway.
“EMTs attended to him at the scene and he was subsequently transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of head and neck injuries which are described as serious.
